Barbara Moretsky
Allegro Quartet founder (retired)
Now retired, Barbara grew up in Detroit, Michigan and began violin at age 9. She studied music at Michigan State University and performed with the Detroit Symphony for one concert as a teenager. After moving to Arizona in 1978, Barbara became part of the music community by performing in orchestras and was the concertmaster of the Fine Arts String Orchestra for 15 years. In 1983 Barbara formed the Allegro Quartet, filling the need for a professional string quartet in the Valley, and performed as a partner until 2013 when she became the full-time manager. She still loves promoting Allegro’s unique repertoire and talent for weddings, parties, musical presentations and any event that would benefit from live string music.
Fun fact: Barbara’s license plate says “STRNGS”
